Accounts Trainee

An opportunity for an A level leaver or graduate looking to pursue a career in accountancy as part of our growing team.

By joining us as an accounts trainee you will be encouraged and supported to study for your professional qualification whilst working as part of our accounts team.

Our training program allows you to develop as a young professional where you will gain exposure in a public practice environment.

The key responsibilities for this role will initially include:

• Assisting with preparing accounts for sole traders and limited companies
• Analysis of client records and information
• Bookkeeping and preparation of VAT returns using relevant software and Microsoft Excel
• Assisting with audit assignments e.g. testing and planning
• Liaise with clients, colleagues and HM Revenue & Customs
• Ability to complete work within budget
• Assist senior members of the team as required
• Other duties within the office as and when required

Experience and Qualifications:

• University degree (2:1 or above), or
• At least two A-levels, A*-B grades

The ideal candidate will have the following skills:

• Good numerical, verbal and written communication skills
• Attention to detail
• Computer literate with experience using Outlook, Excel, Word and other Office 365 products
• Strong interpersonal skills
• A commitment and motivation to learn and develop with a view to becoming a chartered accountant
